HOW CAN YOU HELP?

On the second Saturday of each month you can help in two ways:

  1. Collect one or more water samples from streams convenient to you and drop it off at a collection location for analysis. We'll provide the bottle and help you select a stream site if you wish.
  2. Help analyze water samples in the Stream Team lab in Boyd Hall on Miami's campus. Lab work will start at noon in Room 203, Boyd Hall on Western Drive, Miami University in Oxford.

Sample collectors and lab volunteers are both needed. You can contribute in either way, for any amount of time. For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Donna McCollum at the Institute of Environmental and Sustainability, Miami University 513-529-9386 or by email.

Throughout the year, Stream Team volunteers enjoy canoe trips on the Great Miami, picnics, and other activities.

Upcoming Events

We are planning some fun events for 2012 including a volunteer picnic, macroinvertebrate training, and canoe trips.

The first of these is World Wetlands Day on February 2. To celebrate this, Donna is going to host a brunch and wetland hike on her property, the Edge of the Farm Conservation Area on Feb 18 at 10am. RSVP if possible
